Slave Lake RCMP continue investigation into found remains *update: victim identification requested*

On October 6, 2018, the Slave Lake RCMP responded to a report of found human remains that had been located at a rural area near the Town of Slave Lake. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Slave Lake RCMP continue to investigate the matter as a homicide.

The victim is male, and is believed to be older than 45 years old. The male appears to be Caucasian with possible mixed ancestry (Indigenous). The male appears to have had facial hair (stubble beard) at the time of death and balding pattern style of hair. It is believed that the victim has been deceased for a prolonged period of time.

Attached is a composite sketch and model rendering to assist with identifying the victim.

The RCMP is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the victim. Those with information can contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3045 or their local police. Slave Lake RCMP continue investigation into found remains

On October 6, 2018, the Slave Lake RCMP responded to a report of found human remains that had been located at a rural area near the Town of Slave Lake.

The RCMP Major Crime Unit and Slave Lake RCMP continue to investigate the matter. Further investigation continuing at this time, with an autopsy scheduled for October 9, 2018 in Edmonton. The RCMP is requesting that anyone who may have noticed anything out of the ordinary in the area to contact the Slave Lake RCMP.
